Personal history

Marcus Koleszar was a prominent member of the Aurum Assemble. He was born in Fangorn to a prestigious physician, Gernvald Koleszar who was the one to deliver Marcus through the use of a rare birthing method known as surgical birth. Being the child of a famous individual, Marcus spent much of his youth trying to live up to his father Gernvald. He enlisted into The Physician Order at the young age of 19 and would graduate 5 years later with a physician license and already much prestige from the community. He spent the next years of his life being the assistant to his father who was the court physician of Lorcan V Trugar. This arrangement would end however, as in A4 601 the Tru Betrayal would begin. A year into the war, the citadel in Fangorn was attacked by assassins who had come for the royal family, and Gernvald was doing late night tests in citadel basement where the assassins decided to infiltrate from, he was at the right place at the wrong time during their infiltration. He was killed during the attack which would also kill the empress and the prince. Marcus would stay as the court physician during the war, but would leave the kingdom after the war.
He and his mother would move to Evlora where he would work as a private physician for a decade before joining the Aurum Assemble who he had been working with from time to time. His focus would be on alchemical treatments and making potions which would become more affordable for the common people. He was especially motivated when his mother fell ill in A4 621. The disease which ravaged her body was the Lyserian Flu which was an extremely rare disease known for its resilience. He worked the next year of his life almost in complete isolation to find a cure, but to no avail. She fell victim to the disease and Marcus was left without parents. Marcus blamed himself for his mother's death and would become obsessed with finding cures and treatments to diseases, especially the Lyserian Flu. This obsession would never end during his life, but his compulsiveness and isolation would lessen some decades later when he met Tilma, a vedalken woman who he fell in love with. The two were inseparable and in A4 639, they married. Not even a year later was Tilma pregnant with their first child. The pregnancy was difficult for Tilma, but Marcus was there for her the entire time and treated her symptoms as best he could. When it was time for her to give birth to their child, the complications made it difficult for a natural birth, and Marcus was forced to do a surgical birth just like his father had done to him. He did his best, but even he could not pull it through like his father had. The birth ended with Tilma dead, but their child, a girl, survived. Marcus named the child after her mother, but his obsessiveness and self loathing would both return and increase because of the death of Tilma. It took him years to find some forgiveness for himself, but he managed to be there for her daughter as best he could while continuing his important work.
Marcus' life came to a surprising end in A4 652 when Yaxora Tayker used a transportation stone on a living gray render while fighting Kazaktar Gnawler. Sending the beast to the basement of the Aurum Assemble while Marcus was on inventory duty. He was torn to shreds by the beast, not leaving enough parts for a proper burial. His death was a result of being at the right place, but at the wrong time.

Marcus was educated at the physician's order for five years, after which he served as an assistant to his father.

Employment

Marcus was the assistant court physcian at the The Parador Citadel in Fangorn, then the court physcian during the Tru Betrayal. After leaving Fangorn he worked as a privae physican and then became part of the Aurum Assemble where he became the second in command.
