Arch

The material Arch is a special kinda metal alloy and was first found in the mines of Kreoh. When first mined, it looked more like a kind of silver, but when observed out of the mines, the raw material gave a wonderful glowing sphere around it. This was later to be found out that Archs superconductive properties were the cause of the glow. It was first found when mining for other metals and minerals in the mines of Kreoh and was a coincidental discovery by some lucky miners.

Rarity

In the region where Kreoh is placed, Arch is pretty normal. One of the mines in the Kreoh settlement is filled with Arch. It hasn't been seen in those big quantities - like it is in Kreoh - any other place on Domus. So its surely is a bit rare to find, but when found, it's often in pretty large quantities in a small area.

Properties

Arch has a rare case of really superconductive properties - this means that electrical resistance no longer exists in the material. It has a rare form of superconductivity because of the size of its critical temperature. The critical temperature is the exact temperature where the material becomes superconductive, and normally this temperature is pretty low compared to the average air temperature. This is where Arch stands out compared to other know superconductive materials - its critical temperature is only at 10 degrees celsius. This is incredibly hot! And it makes it very easy to use for new inventions - like the supercomputer.
This is exactly the kind of material humans has been looking for! Though the properties of the material can't be explained with the knowledge we have at this point. The science humans know and turn to can't explain Archs properties - something unknown and new is going on, and humans are on the edge of figuring it out.

Raw Arch

Arch is commonly found in a reddish compound made of stone and copper. It has a crystal-like form in the stones, and to get only the raw Arch, you need to extract it from the stone. When looking at the metal in its raw form, it doesn't look like anything special, and at first, miners didn't even notice that it might be new material. - Let's just say, it took some time to figure that out.
