Domian Wit and "Helping Hands"

We need to unite our people - the currency is a great place to start! - Levi Wit

History

After humans went to Domus, a new currency had to be implemented. A currency that united all the different nationalities on Domus, to one new - The Domians.     It was the brilliant dutch Levi Wit that suggested to make a completely new currency. This happened after discussions about which “Earth” currency was to be used on Domus that had led to some heated arguments between the new Domians.   Levi presented his ideas to the travellers, and people seemed to like the idea. The general idea of his was to have a currency consisting of a digital obtainable coin you would get from your work, but also a completely new way of getting money. He called it the “helping hand”. HH is a subgroup to the currency that would ensure that no one would be left without a way to earn money.

Wits

Wits is a digital currency, represented as a coin. The coin has Domus in the middle with its 5 moons around it. It is a rather pretty coin, which is why some has made physical coins for their enjoyment. Domians having their own currency made them closer.   Levi's idea was for Domians to feel some sense of relation to the other citizens. Now, they were Domians; Together.

Helping Hand

Helping Hand, also known as HH, is the sub currency to Wits. It's essentially the same currency, but it has another way to be obtained. HH isn’t worth the same amount as the Wits, to ensure that people trying to cheat the system didn't get anything for it - though people still managed to do it a couple of times. It’s still a work in progress, but it was implemented soon after Levi presented it anyway, and has helped the society a lot.   Now, when doing a good deed, or when helping the city getting the public spaced fixed, you get a small amount of money for it. This has made the city a better place.

Levi Wit

But who was this dutchman? As a young man, Levi dreamed of going to explore new worlds - worlds so very far from Earth. Later in life, his dreams came true, but it wouldn't happen until he was around 50 years old. When young, Levi couldn't see his dream coming true any time soon, so he chose to study maths in University, and became one of the best mathematicians of his time.   Then after 10 years as a University professor, Levi craved something new. He took a degree in History and became interested in how currencies came to be a thing. Not long after, the mission to Domus became public, and he decided to go after his long-forgotten childhood dream. And this is how he came to Domus.

Digitalization

Every Domian has an account, but there are no banks around. They are all connected to the same system, and this is were all currency run through. There are different ways to access your money, and it is up to peoples own preferences. Though most like to have it just by their hands.   Traditionally, money has always been something you could physically hold in your hands; coins and banknotes are still known as the norm for the elders. So when making the Wit currency it was important for Levi, that it felt known. He designed a coin system and digitalized it, and this seems to be well-received among generations.

Creator/founder

Levi Wit (A brilliant mathematician originally from the Netherlands)

Creation year

In the year 2105 (The year we arrived on Domus)

Digital representation

It is only valid as a digital currency but is still represented as coins made of gold; this, however, doesn't mean that it is a physical coin you can trade with.

Physical representation

Some has made the digital representation of Wits into something real and has made themselves some coins. These are not valid and doesn't hold any value.

The HH (Helping Hand)

A side-currency which is worth less than Wit but is still essentially the same currency. This is represented as the same form of coin, but smaller and made of silver.
