They suggested that something fundamental was missing in our understanding of the universe, though they couldn’t link this new way of thinking together with the old ways. Something was still
missing, that would eventually link these to ways of seeing the universe together. The progress came to a standstill when our apparatuses and technology wasn’t advanced enough to give us the progress we needed.
In later years, a new spark in the study was created when Weilm Meriday published his research and theory of pathways.
His new way of seeing the matter made room for new discussions and research. Though we still weren’t able to confirm anything when looking through data from observations.
"Even though dark matter and dark energy aren't visible to our eyes, it still holds a mysterious amount of unknown science to be explored. Those words should excite any scientists!" - Weilm
When his daughter Thaolin took up his dad’s research after his death, the puzzle started to look more and more finished. Throughout her career in physics, she searched for evidence of pathways and could call her mission a success at age 39 (The Year 2097).
Pathways existence completely changed the view of our universe and it’s fundament. The first pathway ever found, was named in honour of the first theorist Weilm (and it is also called pathway 1.)
Science of pathways - The Fundamentals
First, we must have a fundamental understanding of where this theory bloomed from. Dark matter and dark energy have been theorised to exist for many years but we weren’t able to observe it.
A pathway is a point in space that connects to another with dark energy. The pathway itself is a place in space (
and possibly time) where the concentration of dark matter is extremely high. When Thaolin made her working model of pathways, she already understood the physics of dark energy and dark matter - and so did every other scientist.
You can’t describe pathways properly without understanding dark energy/matter.
It’s the same as with gravity. How would you describe it if you didn’t have a concept of a force?
Now, this is all kinda spacey, and at times - well maybe most of the times - hard to grasp.
But understanding dark matter/energy is the building stones for understanding and seeing the potential in pathways. Because dark matter and dark energy is a completely different concept than the known particles and energy forms we can see and detect, scientists weren't sure how to prove they existed.
If it doesn't interact with gravity or light, certainly it must interact with something else... Something we haven't thought of yet. - Thaolin
Dark matter and dark energy have been assigned symbols to represent them (See table underneath).
These symbols are made by the
Nadvë long before humans even knew about particles and forces like this. Humans adapted the symbols after it was made clear what they meant.
Dark matter
Dark matter doesn’t have a charge, as in, the particles that would be dark matter, doesn’t have a positive nor negative charge. This is also the case for the known particle called neutrinos. And in a sense, the two particles have a lot of parallels.
Dark energy
Like dark matter, dark energy is only speculations and mathematical calculations that predict its existence.
Interaction with space-time
Because pathways is a concentrated point of mass and energy, it will interact with
Space-time and might be detectable in that way. This is the only known way to find pathways, dark matter and dark energy (which is all connected in some way). Space-time can be stretched, pressed together and warped, and this is exactly how pathways works - well there is a bit more to it than that.
