Ah-Chi
Rogue, Arcane Trickster
Ravager (a.k.a. Ah-Chi)
His older sister, who was the original bearer of the name. Inspired by bounty posters, he recently adopted her name in the hopes it will eventually lead him back to her. He and his sister were separated after a band of humans raided Exius’ sanctum, forcing them to escape. She was covered in black feathers like her brother but has sapphire-colored eyes and different kinds of markings on her beak. She seemed to be more proficient at magic than her sibling but was far less stealthy and dextrous.

THE NAMELESS BIRDS
________________________________________ Ah-chi never really had a real name. His family never bothered naming themselves because it wasn’t necessary to their lifestyle. The name ‘Ah-chi’ was actually his older sister’s nickname given when both they were held “captive” by a black dragonborn sorcerer named Exius. He hopes to become a renowned bounty hunter using his sister’s name to somehow reunite with her one day, his only remaining family member. Through his bounty quests, he frequently fulfills his clients requirements in exchange for information about his sister, whom had sapphire-colored eyes and markings on her beak. Around four years old, Ah-Chi’s mother died inside their nest to an unknown illness shortly after the parents returned late from their daily scavenging routine. She could have died from the accumulated filth and junk within the nest, disease from the outside world, or a combination of both. His father’s whereabouts were unknown, but Ah-chi discovered blood stains and splatter near the exit of their lair. Out of starvation and desperation, Ah-chi consumed about half of an egg’s contents that could’ve been his future sibling - a deed that could eventually bite him back later in his life. For the first time ever, Ah-Chi and his sister stepped outside their nest after their parents’ death and disappearance. They wandered for weeks, rummaging for food scraps. Eventually, Ah-chi earned the nickname “The Ravenous Ravager” due to his ruthlessness. He scavenged and devoured whatever he could from anyone and anything, uncertain if his next meal would be his last. -x-THE SORCEROR'S PETS
________________________________________ One day, Ah-chi and his sister were ambushed and knocked out. When they woke up, they found themselves inside a cage within some kind of cave with ruby-colored crystals. Later on, they discovered their captor’s name to be Exius, a black dragonborn sorcerer. He appeared to be very intimidating due to his tall stature and menacing look. He was also quite mysterious. At first, it seemed like Ah-chi and his sister were his pets. During the day, he left toys to keep them occupied while he was gone. In the evening, he would feed them chunks of meat and the occasional healthier snack. About a year later, the sorcerer's demeanor changed when he started noticing that the two birds chirped whenever he performed magic. Intrigued by how well they could mimic his incantations, he began to test their capabilities. To his surprise, the older, female Kenku caught on quickly whereas the younger, male one made little progress. In exchange for the stunted magical growth, the younger one was far more dextrous and cunning and could solve magic puzzles faster. To encourage the little one, Exius gave him playing cards, which fascinated the young Kenku whenever Exius made them vanish from plain sight. For the next couple years, the relationship between the three of them developed into a master-apprentice one, or so it seemed. He named the female Kenku ‘Ah-chi’ due to her sneezing tendencies whenever she failed the incantations. As for other one, he kept the name ‘Ravager’ since the male Kenku still had destructive tendencies. The Kenkus displayed signs of excitement when they learned that Exius bestowed them their official names engraved on a scroll in draconic writing. Not understanding the real intentions of their master, they never quite grasped the concept of being bound to a contract and what the markings on their beaks meant. And neither of the birds could discern Exius’s true nature. When Exius acquired another specimen, a feral white tiger-like male Tabaxi, he treated him no less the same when the Kenkus were first captured. However, Exius fed him human remains instead of whatever he fed the them. The Kenkus probably would have remained with Exius for their entire lifetime if it had not been for a raid, capping their stay at a total of seven years. On that very day, Exius casted a spell of invincibility on the Kenkus when he heard loud blasts and shouting coming from the outside. He released them from their pens and gestured them to escape. The younger Kenku hesitated, not wanting to leave his master who had nourished and taught him many things. But Exius did not falter and teleported both of the Kenkus outside of the cavern, which seemed to be beside a waterfall. They saw a troupe of about twelve humans in heavy armor rushing into the jaws of the cavern. As they did, a deep feline roar and draconic cries reverberated through the cave. Then, the sounds of claws scraping metal pierced the air. Human screams mixed with the bubbling sound of acid melting both armor and flesh sent chills down the Kenkus’ spines. In the distance, another wave of humans stormed from the path leading up to the cave. With no other escape route, the two invisible Kenkus lept into the waterfall, not knowing what awaited them at the bottom. Unfortunately, Ravager did not have a soft landing, suffering a concussion that caused him to lose consciousness. When he regained his consciousness, his eyes met the yellow eyes of another dark-feathered Kenku. To his dismay, this Kenku was not his sister. The foreign Kenku introduced himself as Prowler, a loyal member of a thieves’ guild. And thus, their fateful encounter launched Ravager’s career as a rogue. -x-THE PATH OF SHADOWS
________________________________________ When Ravager officially joined the guild, he adopted his sister’s name. Henceforth, he referred himself as Ah-chi. He had stolen the idea from the various bounty posters looming around town, hoping that the name would draw out his sister or anyone who would’ve known her. For the next four years, the newborn rogue remained with the thieves’ guild, where he learned to perfect the art of stealth, subterfuge, and infiltration. He became adept at wielding daggers and whenever the job required assassination, he would extract body parts or organs from the victim as keepsake or food. For Ah-chi, he gave him a bit of ease and reminiscence because it reminded him how hard his parents worked to keep him and his sister fed everyday. During those years, Ah-chi and Prowler became close friends. Prowler became Ah-chi’s social mentor. Once in a while, they would stray from the guild to learn more about each other, especially since the two were the only Kenkus. Though Prowler didn’t have much of an interesting background since he was orphaned into the guild, he was intrigued over Ah-chi’s encounter with the sorcerer. Prowler insisted that Exius setup the murder of his parents to lure him and his sister out of the nest, but Ah-chi refused to believe there was a connection because Prowler had no basis. When Ah-chi mentioned that he devoured his sibling to survive, Prowler warned Ah-chi to be careful not to talk about it around humans and elves. Especially because those races might perceive it as murder and could interfere with client relations. As a token of their friendship and time together, Prowler gifted Ah-chi horn to call him whenever he was lost, badly injured, or in danger.Personality Characteristics
