Session 5 - Branched horns and The Missing Son Report
General Summary
Ellarae had a dream where she wasn't herself but a purple-skinned tiefling man she had seen in the Calling for The Hunt. People were throwing rotten tomatoes and eggs at him and they were only selling him bread with a higher price than normal. He seemed to be on a run, but why, is unknown. Ella began to call the man 'Branchhorn' due to his unusual branched, staglike horns.
After the Group -Kornai- had woken up, they visited 'the magic people' in the House of Arcane and met the 'boss lady', Inaltria Whitewind. They dropped of Nilaa the Scorpion, and took on another quest the 'boss lady' asked if they would be interested on doing. The task in question was about a magical cave and igredients one could be able to get from there. The wizards in The House of Arcane weren't too eager to go there themselves, because books and wilderness do not mix well. Therefore, Miss Whitewind asked if the party woud be in need of money and interested on going to the cave and gathering ingredients for potions and poisons. Especially the blue moss was sought after. As the task of getting ingredients was not tied to any timeframe, the group decided to head to seek the dead son of Desna and Jali, the lovely couple who lived next to the baker's. There had been rumors that their deceased and buried son had suddenly risen from dead and such rumors made the couple very anxious. They wished to know if there was any truth to those words and hired the party to see what it was all about. True enough, Ella and her group came across a man in the middle of the desert at night. The man walked slowly, dragging his feet and seemed to be in a bad state; His clothes were tattered, skin dull and pale. With a raspy voice he asked for water, which Elllarae offered to the man. The man drank from her waterskin, just to throw up blood on poor, unsuspecting Ellarae, scaring the Chosen one. Fight was initiated and when they thought they had been able to kill the man again, an odd flaoting tentacle monster emerger from the body, trying to flee. The group finished it and it was revealed -to the appalment of Ellarae and her aunt- that the creature had been a demon. Afterwards, they headed back to the city of Eagleview Citadel, but it was hard for proud hunter Ellarae to forget the shame of having been surprised by the foul creature. They buried the son's body with proper rites and the lovely couple paid the party 100 gp for their troubles. Exhausted, the group headed back to The Second Whale to have a proper good night's sleep.
