Every great house in The Magistrate of Kastradal has an artwork which represents their family's standing in The Magistrate of Kastradal. The form of the Seed of The house doesn't really matter; they differ from ornamental weapons to great works of art and even spellbooks. The most important thing of the seed of the house is that it represents the Great House in some way and is an artifact unique to the family. When a house gets another seat in the Council of Magistrates, they swear their loyalty to The Great Archmage Of the Magistrate of Kastradal by their House's seed.
Even when always a valuable artifact, the Seed of The House has more ritual than monetary value.
