Fiends or undead within 5 feet of the target take 1d6 radiant damage, and any allies in the same area regain 2d6 hit points. An evil creature cannot hold or use this item. This damage ignores resistance and immunity, and cannot be reduced or avoided by any means. A fiend or undead reduced to 0 hit points by this damage disappears in a blinding flash and is destroyed, leaving its possessions behind.
