Hillope

Hillope is an airless moon with occasional volcanic eruptions visible with the naked eye. Hillope has a cratered surface and appears light brown to yellow. Darker "seas" represent areas of recent lava fields and younger terrain. Hillope is a small world only 500 miles in diameter but is closer in at 88,000 miles and is tidally locked with alterra and completes one day in 23 days and one revolution in 23 days.

Geography

Hillope is a terrestrial rocky moon with an active geologic core probably cause by gravitational pressures caused by push and pull of Alterra and Aslan. Hillope is covered in volcanoes and cracked surface mixed with craters. The outsized majority of craters are in the yellow to tan areas of the moon. Fewer craters are seen in the darker brown areas, but those areas have long cracks and valleys that sometimes fill with lava and gasses can be seen rising and evaporating from the cracks with very good telescopes. When Hillope is particularly active some volcanoes can be seen with the naked eye spewing ash and gasses into space.

Ecosystem Cycles

Geologically an active moon, it believed core gasses escape and some are ejected in to space others precipitate back to the planet causing the dark brown areas. lava streams and sheets have been recorded throughout history. It seems that every 900 to 1200 years a major fissure will open and a lava flow will form visible for a month or longer.

Localized Phenomena

Hillope-quakes as said to happen frequently, usually as the moon approaches and leaves proximity to Aslan.

Natural Resources

It is believed that the ancients had surveyed the moon and found it had high levels of sulfur and sulfur compounds in greater abundance than Alterra so they posited that this moon was captured and eventually swung into an inner orbit by some unique stellar alignment, or it came perilously close to Aslan but was influenced enough by Alterra to bring it inward.
