Magic

After the crash a lot of learning in technology was lost and simpler technology was more important to survival. However over the centuries the study of magic came into being, some think it is a different version of Star Walker technology, tapping the same metaphysics but using a vastly different methodology – sentient consciousness. The Star Walkers were so advanced their technology was for the commoner magical. Cyphers and Relics act as magical for determining if they affect creatures, effects and other events that are only affected by magic. Cyphers and Relics do not register as magical when using detect magic. Magic may negate the effects of some cyphers and relics, DM to rule. Cyphers and relic effects cannot be negated with dispel magic.  
  • Wizardry - The long and tedious studious way of developing magical ability.
  • Sorcery - Pure will and supernatural psychic power focused to manipulate reality for a short time.
  • Philosophical Magic - Power of introspection to act as a conduit of power shaped by philosophical form
  • Hedge Magic - Druidic, Warlock, Ranger, bard, Paladin and other forms of magic that is varying less studious forms of wizardry.
  Black Magic - This is called black because it has defied study, any who become involved in this kind of magic are warped by mind, body or spirit. Typically the magic that makes intelligent undead, or permanently alters the world in terrifying ways. Strangely black magic can involve participants who have no magical power or have formed no magical bond.
