Sharington
Sharington is a village located on the continent of Kaeth on the world of Relune.
Sharington grew around a river that runs through the forest, and is comprised overwhelmingly of humans. They are a patriarchal autocratic absolute monarchy that worships many deities, none having a clear majority at all.
Trade in Sharington is mostly free, with some taxes applied to goods and services rendered in the city. People live a modest existence because of it. Welfare is below average. Citizens are largely left to their own fate except in extreme cases. Healthcare is neglected, and education is an afterthought. Most citizens would have better luck from private benefactors or the church than relying on the government.

Government
The people of Sharington work the land in exchange for working their lord's lands. Lord Godric Faulkner is the supreme ruler, and all laws and affairs are governed by the crown's will.
There's a decent policing presence, and citizens know better than to step out of line, as The Avonmore Shield are armed. Despite this, brutality is rare, and citizens with nothing to hide have nothing to fear. Law in Sharington is punitive based, and those that breach the laws can expect hard labor, incarceration, fines, or, in some instances, public execution. Crime is an ugly stain on humanity, to be removed wherever possible. Magic is reserved only for those with a license, which is a relatively simple form to fill out, stating what type of magic you wish to practice, your contact details, a non-refundable bond to cover public liability, and whether it's for commercial or personal use.

Points of interest
The nearest landmark is the ribcage of a giant whale that fell out of the sky a long time ago, surrounded by a field of petunias. Local legends differ in how it got there, but the most accepted answer is that it was an unexpected side effect of a wizards reckless attempt to mess with the nature of probability
Architecture
The houses and businesses are made of logs sealed with clay and roofed with wooden shingles. The windows tend to be small and the wooden shutters are cut to fit very closely to keep out the winter weather. Most of the doors are carved with intricate designs or scenes that in some cases tell the story of the growth of the family!
Geography
Sharington grew around a natural camping spot for travelers working their way down the Twilside River. Even with the trees that were cut down to make the village there is still a thick forest surrounding the town.
Natural Resources
The residents grow potatoes and leaks to supplement the fish from the river and the bountiful amount of wild game from the forest. The trees themselves provide mostly softwoods such as pines, red cedar, hemlock, and yew.
Thank you to my friend RS Lokke who created Relune and allowed me to steal a tiny part of it to strand his DND Character on. We'll see how much or little of it his adventuring group explores before they find their way home to Althaneas: https://www.worldanvil.com/w/relune-rslokke
