The midnight Ministry is ruling body of the Church of the Merciful Angel 

The Four Congregations

The Midnight Ministry is separated into four magisterial congregations, each named after what they are tasked to combat.

Congregation of Whispers

Members of this congregation are tasked with preserving the sanctity and unity of the Church and its teaching. Their inquisitors hunt diligently for heretics throughout the Coalition.

Congregation of Patterns

These are the witchfinders of the Ministry. The hunt down and prosecute unlicensed mages and root out forbidden practices of magic.
Congregation of Steel Perhaps the most martial of the branches of the ministry. The Congregation is tasked with the security of the Church, its dignitaries and sacred sites.

Congregation of Shadows

The smallest branch of the Ministry, tasked to combat supernatural entities. Since the coming of the Mists, the demand for these inquisitors has risen abruptly, but so has the death toll among them.
