A reflection on the True Victory: A reflection on heroism, battle and planar aversion
A book containing reflections upon the true victory; as written by an unnamed author who writes in a straight forward and simple style; emphasising clarity of words over impressive handwriting. The text is at least 500 years old and the pages are thin and crumbling, there is a layer of transmutation magic that is faded and DESPERATELY trying to maintain the security of the book.
A key excerpt from the book:
On reflection, one cannot help but notice the suddenness of the True Victory. Only through a few exceptional individuals and the support of a betrayer within The Dread King's inner circle were we able to come out as victors before something truly disastrous were to happen.
The world will be forever grateful to the Heroes of Rasmorae, true heroes that they are. Whether it is Isarra the Pain-fulled, Corrath the Sun Watcher, Helm the Sacrificer or Lathos the Arachnia; they all deserve our forever acknowledgement and love. Whilst the betrayer Camille may forever suffer alongside the Dread King in the layers of the abyss.
However, one cannot look at the movements of this battle without knowing the opportunities we missed. The Dread King's lieutenants were evil, scheming and reprehensible... but their planar research cannot be ignored for the way they discovered that grand door and established it; a tactical move to stop the Dread King's assault being interrupted with though this structure will forever hold back the real world and we will mourn that loss of colour and life for millenia to come. The divines are already attempting to fix the chaos caused by this door and already clerics have been left by the Entities with only their chosen champions remaining.
There is talk of people being chosen to ascend... one cannot help but see any more qualified than the true heroes of Rasmorae...
