The Warforged Proto doesn't have memories before the Umbral Knights... though he often credits the cannoneer with his creation, the truth was that he was just upgraded by the Goliath. Proto supported the true heroes in defeating the Dread King and was famed for taking the most hits of the party and effectively being swallowed and eaten by foes before breaking free. After the Dread King was defeated, Proto went to the Feywild with Dashilla the Darkling for the dual reason of observing her and ensuring she never wished to become the Dread King. His more personal reason was so that he could explore the feywild, train constantly, and fight the strongest enemies across the planes. When Persicorum ran into Proto, the warforged had been driven mad in the feywild and hunted them with an endless bloodlust and desire to fight any who came near him and offered challenge. There was sense of humour or personality in the previously fun and carefree warforged. Instead now he wished merely to fight, kill and add more trophies to his belt. Proto specifically made a point of hunting Thordak and Kodo in the feywild but also studied Fen's features and promised vengeance on the wizard for interrupting hsi battle with the half orc. Proto notably knocked thordak unconscious with one strike and used his second strike to try to finish off the halforc, stamping on his ribs before Fen saved him.
