The Crownsguard

Look, there are bad eggs amongst the crownsguard, corruption, brutality, bias, everyone knows it... but they do their damn best considering.

The Crownsguard represent the town guard and major military throughout Alturis. They answer directly to the Elected Crown and their local representatives, they also answer to the Inquisitors as though they were top ranking generals.
The Crownsguard are broken into 4 ranks:

• Selected: The in-training privates of the crownsguard, the lowest of the low and do not yet have permission to use lethal weapons and should always be supervised whilst working, They wear light leather armour with four bright strips of cloth around the biceps and the insignia of the Crownsguard on their torso in bold and large.
• Crownsguard: Your grunt soldier, these guys have finished training and typically work in a group and answer to the Helmed Crown or Head Crownsguard. They are the highest portion of crownsguard and are your town guards and generic soldiers. They were golden breastplate with the crownsguard crest on their chest whilst typically wielding rapiers and shields with the crest.
• Helmed Crown: The generals of the Crownsguard. They have worked their way through the ranks and command smaller groups of Crownsguard in their work. They typically represent the sheriff or chief of police in smaller settlements but still answer to Inquisitors and Head Crownsguard if they are in the area. They have very similar uniforms to Crownsguard but their crest is cast in luxurious purple paints with the blade painted silver.
• Head Crownsguard: If Helmed Crowns are the general then Head Crownsguard are the officers and commanders. They are often noble, political and skilled tacticians. They are the highest one can go without becoming a representative of the Elected Crown... many Head Crownsguard run army camps or even small settlements.
