27.1 - Fish out of Water
Set in Skybridge, Year 300 (present).
The Vrar are tasked with inquiring and escorting an incredibly old triton going by the name of Dolrath Goseba (old man Dol). It's really Dolgos Ebarath- Triton native to Isfeljor. Started the Keepers. Born 122. Currently aged 178 years old. That's 30 years older than the oldest known person. He's crazy; having a mix of ice and nature tax.
Asriya wants him to rejoin the Keepers and help shed light on missing information. The Vrar are asked to achieve this task in their normal Keepers rank. She also advises they hurry, as she suspects someone else is on the trail.
This other group would be an Aligner and 3 Slayers.
The group will need to navigate through Skybridge, where they are not very welcome. Not many natives will open up to them.
Need some competition between the Vrar and the hunters, once they meet.
End game? Dolgos needs to get away or we ruin continuity. So maybe the Vrar "catch" him and he gives some vague hint about chaos's champions come.
Plot points/Scenes
Set in Sky Bridge, Year 300 (present), but in the future.
The Vrar are tasked with inquiring and escorting an incredibly old triton going by the name of Old Man Eb, or just Eb.
The group starts in a tavern. They are all sitting at a table being served food (roasted bird with a large salad full of exotic, plump fruits). The interior is very bright and open, no panes of glass between them and the stretch of inhabited canopy. Sign on the bar about Sylla seeking taste-testers (The Missing Ingredient p115) and Mirabelle asking patrons (except them) for help with her performance in the bower tonight (Assistant Wanted p114)
They review their mission while other patrons keep their distance. No one in Sky Bridge likes anyone from Paritet. They have a pride in independence and don't consider themselves under Paritet's control. And they definitely don't appreciate Paritet's attempts to alter their culture.
As they start to ask about where they can find Old Man Eb, when they are successful, they get a "Oh, you too? Did your Enforcer friends tell you?"
This other group would be an Aligner and 3 Slayers. Aligner Laeroth Taala (elf, desert complexion, Flamewrath), Ismora (centaur, female, notably long braided hair, Reghed Great Warrior), Nem (half-orc, though hard to tell, Blood Hunter), Cheldric Hornblower (halfling, whiney, Mage).
Just then they catch sight of a group of 4 Paritet insignia'd people making their way across on of the rope bridges to the west bank. If the group is noticed by the opposition, then the opposition will speed up and the Aligner inconspicously cast like grease or something.
Eb's home is down by the river, on the ground level, on the west bank (they are on the east side). They will need to get down to him before the Enforcer group does. It's about 115ft down to the ground level.
Ways to get down:
Platform elevator: They will see Ismora and Cheldric about to descend on the elevator. Combat on a small 3x3 platform if they decide to rush onto it as well, as it's the only one and moves slowly.
Winding stairs: Laeroth and Nem are already half-way down the stairs, though Nem is faster and out of the party's sight. The stairs are faster, but will require dex checks DC 15 to make it down at a decent speed. Nem and Laeroth will cast spells or toss things like rainwater barrels onto the grown steps to make it slick.
Once they get to the bottom, they will have to fight the other 2 they didn't before.
End game? Dolgos needs to get away or we ruin continuity. So maybe the Vrar "catch" him and he gives some vague hint about chaos's champions come.
