Parr

Those with elemental magic abilities are referred to as "parrs". Most parrs are born with inherent magical ability. Others study and develop magical talent. Parrs are revered, as they are necessary for the world's survival. As they near their absolute limits of sanity, they are Released.
Those with other magical abilities—or none at all—are referred to as "non-parrs".¹

Cultural Reception

Parrs are generally revered with solemnity. After all, these magic users sacrifice their lives to keep the world in balance.

"Parr" used to be the term applied to followers of Vira right at the start of Paritet, if quotes from Etánro's Origin are accurate. Currently, members of Paritet are not referred to by this term. This seems to indicate that Paritet's early members were entirely—and only—elemental magic users.
