Alithea, of Spell Weaving
The story of the first soul to ascend in Amaltheon is not very well known to its inhabitants. When the First emerged from the Glimmering Grotto, a young, talented human wizard stood amongst them, though none remember her name because she never spoke of it. For some reason, this once great wizard found herself unable to wield magic as she had in her past life, and she found this to be a great frustration. She studied for weeks, while others began the construction of Dawnbank around her. Many of the First remember this vividly, and at the time they spoke of removing her from the community as she didn't seem to want to be there anyway. Before the vote could be held, the woman packed her belongings and set off into the unknown parts of the world.
Nothing is known of the ritual of ascension that the woman took, but many know it had to have been on or before the 11th of Highsun in the first year on Amaltheon, as one day magic seemed to burst from the ground and a new god revealed herself and her gift to the people. Alithea, of Spell Weaving, as she was now known, had used her divine favour to imbue the very ground itself with magic, allowing for easier use and mastery, allowing for many to live easier lives. It is said to this day, that it is Alithea who blesses Native Souls with magic at birth and that those who dabble in "wild magic" summon the magic directly from Alithea herself.
