Frigid Peony
The Frigid Peony is a rare and highly sought after flower in the world of Amaltheon. Many a rich business owner has attempted to send collectors to gather the flower during the very small window of time that it can be seen. Faer Or has been attempting to stop such expeditions, though, believing there is more to the flower than merely its otherworldly beauty. Many researchers from Faer Or have attempted to find and study the flower, with some even being granted permission to pick the flower, though this happens very rarely and only for research deemed incredibly important.

Anatomy
The Frigid Peony is a strange flower, even for the world of Amaltheon. Its stem reaches around 30cm high, allowing it to reach over the Frost Clovers in the area, and then it has a large pure white bulb that turns to follow the light of the sun and faces down towards the ground when the moon comes out.
Growth Rate & Stages
A Frigid Peony is believed to grow from a simple sprout to a fully formed bulb in only 3 days, which makes it one of the fastest growing known flowers in all of Amaltheon. It begins as a simple sprout, quickly growing its flower head and immediately taking part in the reproduction cycle.
Ecology and Habitats
A Frigid Peony is a very rare sight, even in its only known home, the Vandorenial Forest. Many researchers of Flora have only ever found the flower in groves of Frost Clovers, and even then, they mostly only find it once it has already begun wilting.
Biological Cycle
Many flora researchers believe that the plant can only grow in the latter days of Snowmelt, though some believe that it can grow up to the early days of Rainmoot, though evidence of this is lacking. What happens to the flower or its seeds for the rest of a year is a genuine mystery, with some believing the magical nature of the Vandorenial Forest helps keep this rare flower alive and hidden all year round.

After being put through Ruben Amaryllis's Arcane Processing on the 9th of Rainmoot 37 PW, it was discovered that the Frigid Peony only contained a small amount of magic, specifically enough to conjure an evocation cantrip known as "Frostbite".
