Thadron, of Cursed Greed
In the early years of Amaltheon, Thadron, a young dragonborn sorcerer, had heard of a young halfling man named Cyril who was starting up an adventuring expedition to travel the world of Amaltheon. Thadron, who sought a way to increase his prowess with magic, jumped at this opportunity and travelled the world with this early band of adventurers. Over these travels, however, Cyril would eventually reveal the journey's purpose, to gain divinity and create a currency for the world, in Cyril's name, of course. Thadron was outraged, and schemed in the shadows to steal this divine attempt for himself, as he knew he would achieve more with it.
When the time came and the adventurers grew strong enough, they travelled to an unknown location and began the ritual of divinity. Just before the moment of ascension, Thadron teleported to his former friend and attempted to steal his place, but both were claimed by the ritual. Without the correct preparations, Thadron was twisted and torn apart by this process. After what felt like an eternity of torture, he was rescued by the Lady of Life, who, with no knowledge of what to do, sent Thadron to the Duke of Death to begin life again. Thadron pleaded with the Duke to give him what he saw as rightfully his, and eventually, for unknown reasons, the Duke agreed. Thadron was granted divinity, though he was not granted a divine favour. Thadron would become known as a symbol of terrible luck, having been the only god to ascend who was not granted a divine favour. It is said Thadron stalks the land, cursing innocents with illnesses and tipping the scales of luck against anyone who does not praise him as the god he sees himself as.
