After Britevny leaves the basement, the party begins to realise that having a map of Scorchton is very strange, as nobody is truly sure about the layout of the town, not even those who usually study it. With this information in mind, the party begins to investigate some of the boxes in the basement, finding many strange things (which will be listed in the "read full story"). As the party rummages through the supposedly stolen goods, Juniper fumbles a strange powder brick, inhaling it, and almost immediately becomes irritable. As Ruben tries to sort through a box with Cameo peering over his shoulder, Juniper rushes upstairs and begins to raid the house's pantry before running off as Heothun gives chase. Ruben eventually pulls his head from the crate as he hears footsteps leaving the house and begins to attempt to follow. This leaves Cameo and Maeralya to bury the body of the raider that fell before they dropped their weapons and surrendered.

The party checked through seven boxes in total in the Tiller Basement and found the following:

  • The first box was already open and empty, and the party did not discover any evidence to indicate what was inside.
  •
  • The second box was full of cut amethysts, which Maeralya believes are likely from Halag's Mond, which is the only place on or near the western continent known to run a mine big enough to supply a shipment this large.
  •
  • The third box contains a large potion of rolled up spell scrolls, which Ruben pocketed a few of, though none of note was discovered, ranging from common cantrips to some level 2 spells.
  •
  • The fourth box was full of ready to forge steel ingots, though the party did not pay much attention to discovering any other details about this box.
  •
  • The fifth box contained a bunch of paper wrapped cubes that, once Juniper had accidentally covered herself in one, revealed themselves to be magically infused drugs of unknown origins.
  •
  • The sixth box was full of various kinds of books, ranging from research papers to epic tales of gods and heroes, all beautifully decorated and bound.
  •
  • The last box was full of strange vials of orange liquid that almost seemed to lick up against the glass like fire would. Again, there was no attempt made to think about the origin of these vials.
