Maeralya, Ruben, and Juniper meet a new face

While setting up the campfire to stay close to the cart, Juniper spots a shady figure in the nearby treeline and goes to get Maeralya's attention. As she points out where the figure was to Maeralya, the figure is gone, but Maeralya sees them approaching from the south side of the camp. The figure pulls down its dark hood to reveal itself to be a human woman with long black hair and sharp features. The woman introduces herself as a follower of Enxa, of Darkened Veil, and apologises for the attack carried out by her "companions". She tells the three that her name is Devynn and offers to guard them while they sleep as a show of good faith. When asked why, she tells of a strange creature she and the followers are hunting who steals the faces of other people to hide from the followers of Enxa, of Darkened Veil. The party believes that the creature is a changeling akin to Cameo, but they are very careful with this information. Devynn explains that this creature is an afront to the gods and actually an ancient evil that snuck its way into Amaltheon. After some back and forth conversation, the three let loose that they had only recently entered the world, which drastically switches the tone of the conversation.
