Family Fest

Family Fest starts on the 14th of October, and ends on the 18th. It's a time of year when families get together and celebrate being a family, decorating for Autumn and/or Halloween. At School, children will have October 18th off, but the 17th be a half-day. They will be required to bring a project for their families to work on together, and not need to turn it in.
Soliel during this time will feel more somber or upset, keeping to herself, due to October 14th being the day her parents tragically passed away. She tries to attempt to hide the project, a sky lantern not even built, in the blanket basket. Nuit finds it while cleaning, and asks Soliel about it. She reveals that she didn't want to do the project, because it's meant to be with parents. Nuit comforts her and explains that Family doesn't always mean with parents. Devon and his little sister Summer comes over, and together the four of them build the lantern and celebrate the week as a family.

History

In 1851, Wax paper was invented on Earth. When the humans moved from Earth to Amara in 4049, they celebrated the new beginning with their families. On October 18th every year (Currently 2015 on Amara), families gather together to launch lanterns into the sky, then celebrates the end of Family Fest with a huge feast, similar to Thanksgiving. October 18th is to mark the Autumn season, and the Halloween spirit that was coming up on October 31st.

Execution

• October 14th- Family Fest begins; Children from elementary to high school will bring home a family sky lantern.

• October 15th-18th- Family carnival 5:00 PM to 10: PM; families will go to carnivals if they'd want to and enjoy a night of fun.

• October 17th- School is half-day dismissal, families work on sky lanterns.

• October 18th- No School; Last day of Carnival 12PM - 12 AM. Families will launch Sky Lanterns at 7 PM. At 5 PM, families will enjoy a feast either at restaurants or at home. Cooking at home will vary within the week.
