The Vakri

Built upon the crashed ruins of the Valkyrie's human creation pod, The Vakri remains to this day the largest and most popular city for trade, tourism, and settling down to raise a family.   Built between a lake and the tallest mountain on Thea, The Vakri's steady population growth has spurred city planners to build in the only direction available: up.   At the center of the city, the gutted carcass of the ship. Many pieces were torn off before further destruction of the outer hull was outlawed, leaving several points of entry. However, only the richest and most powerful work and live in the ship, which is so large that many go most of their lives without setting foot outside it (this has earned them the nickname "metalhead" to those not lucky enough to live within the titanium alloyed walls). Those that do leave, however, are met with a stark contrast.   Immediately around the ship live and work merchants and many form of the lower to lower-middle class. Here you'll find maids that work for the metalheads up above, as well as merchants selling shady wares in the shadow of the Valkyrie. This region is called the shadowmarket, or (more derogatorily) the shadowslums.   Beyond the realm of the shadowmarket, a thriving middle class takes residence. They do not have to deal with the booming population of the area immediately around the ruined ship, giving them room to spread into a suburban-esque sprawl. The residents here often work within the inner realms of the city, or in their own artisan shops scattered around the berg.
