Selthal (Sell)(Thawl))

Selthal is a heavily fortified village that serves as the first line of defense for all of Gelrick, as all threats to Gelrick originate from the East, and therefore will travel through the area that Selthal controls. The village itself is mainly filled with elite soldiers and their families, as well as experienced and hardy sailors who can patrol and protect the seas to the north or south of the village itself.

Selthal has a long history of holding off invasions, but due to its importance, it has fallen into enemy hands numerous times, and has been the source of more than headache as generals have speculated on how to recover it.

Demographics

This city is primarily filled with ranks of human men, but there are of course exceptions to this rule. The families of the soldiers often being that exception, however there are also many soldiers that aren't human, and a rare few soldiers who are women.

Government

Selthal's own system of government is simply that of military rank, and anything else is handled externally by the king of Saball.

Defences

There are meter-thick perimeter walls that have been erected by magic from the ground, as well as a few dozen wards and protective enhancements placed over the village. The docks have three waterway gates required to pass through to enter the village, and there is a 24-hour long watch which uses a magic item crafted by The Cinereal Circle that allows users to see in the dark as if it were day.
