"The Blessed of R'yleh, should have been left alone but instead you have angered them. They do their masters bidding, even with his soul trapped in your little jar, Jabbath." - Monta Vess, First of the Unforgiven
R'yleh's Blessed is a feared military unit that strikes fear in the hearts of all who see it. Rows after rows of husk like giants are supported by young girls astride crystalline white horses. They were created by the feared warlock who is said to still live in the Gorian Wastelands, the King of Calada. They find themselves wondering down into Amerielle en mass every thirty years or so when he has amassed enough power. They are said to be the offspring of R'yleh and were gifted to the King of Calada for his years of service.
The unit is comprised of pairs, Yami and Jamok. The Yami, a young girl, who when being born was subjected to a ritual that drove her mother to insanity. When the ritual was complete the child was offered R'yleh. These are the ones he accepted. They belong to the mind of that fearful old god, R'yleh. Their minds are stripped out and replaced with a fragment of his own. Many wicked warlocks have used this ritual to create small armies of their own. It was using this process that the King of Calada created his army. The Yami are gifted with the ability to link to a creature and provide R'yleh's streght. They Yami use their innate ability to enhance the already formidibale strenth of their paired Jamok. The Yami uses her powers to enhance the strength of the wall smashing, army crushing, Jamok, and those who get in the way of the pair are destoryed.
The Jamok themselves are a husk of a part-giant, part-human monstrosity. The humanity or life has all but been stripped away. Their eyes have gone coal black and their skin white and ashy. All thought was washed away. They can exhibit the powers of their giant lineage but generally rely on the strength provided by their Yami. They lead the rest of the Caladian army using clubs, fists, and rocks to open holes in ranks and break through fortifications. They receive their commands from their Yami and have no thoughts other than hers. When that connection is broken they often fall or stand without movement until a new linkage is created.
It has been nearly 30 years since the last time R'yleh's Blessed have headed south.
