The Birth of Life

Amicis is created, and the deities are sent to cover it in life and love.

Before there was life, the Allfather looked forward, and saw that there would be a wonderful creation. This creation was one he would come to treasure, and so he knew he must allow it to be created: life. He would need to create the chance for it to appear. So the Allfather created space and time and those who were with him saw his doing and asked what he was making.   So the Allfather explained to them what he was doing, and explained that it was created to allow life to grow. Those who were with him grew curious at this, and several dozen desired the chance to go down and see this life for themselves.   The Allfather agreed, already knowing that they would go. So unto each of them he assigned and domain and a task. They all eagerly set up this new place and began to create, using the light from the Allfather to guide them.   And so, Amicis was created. The deities who had come down each created several beings for the Allfather's approval. Arguments and debate broke out over who's creations were best, but the Allfather silenced them. Instead, he breathed into his hands and gave all of them a piece of Spirit, that they might give true life to those they had created.   From this rose several races.   There was the elves that Dryadalis had woven together from the magic of the Fey Wilds. These were given a piece of Spirit that they might breathe and learn.   There was the hardened dwarves, carved from the stone by Nanus. These were given a piece of Spirit that they might see, hear, feel, taste, and touch.   There were the burly orcs, drawn in the heat of the earth by Pristis. These were given a piece of Spirit that their blood would flow and they could create.   Finally there was man. Man created from the very dirt of Amicis itself by Mundus. These were given a piece of Spirit that they might live and love.   Slowly the other deities began to craft their own beings, and with each of these that were pleasing to him, the Allfather gave a piece of Spirit. These beings went on with instructions from those who created them and those who ruled over factions of their reality. They built homes, cities, business, lives, and much, much more.   This was the beginning of Amicis.
