Lord Peter, king of Seath ends up betraying his close friend, Clanger: The Rat King.

Early in their careers as kings, Clanger and King Peter of Seath were close friends. They helped each other establish their lands and a bond was formed between the two. However, Seath expanded too quickly and greedily. It was seen as the forerunner of technology and money. This lead Peter to use up most of his country's resources.   Desperate he turned to his old friend, Clanger for help. The Kenku opened his country to his friend and agreed to let him have some of the vast forest life from his country so long as the king didn't take more than his people could give. Peter betrayed Clanger and ravaged his old friend's country in order to turn his own into a truly prosperous land. Hermus became a wasteland and desert.   Clanger was desperate to keep his people going and managed to save them through the grace of Biane and Liane, the brother and sister deities. They told Clanger so long as someone traveled to the top of the lone mountain every day and knocked three times upon the stone at morning, noon, and dusk, the water in the lake would be holy and allow his people to heal and sustain themselves.   Clanger dedicated himself solely to this task, but while he did, his country suffered and was seen as the worst country by far in Insulam. It was not until the appearance of Darius and Julianna Margraive that Clanger's story was thrown into some light and The Rat King became more respected. He died in the year 2627 FM, passing his leadership over to Darius Margraive happily.
