The Fae-Ar

Since time immemorial, in every six generations of Owlfolk residing in Saol, one of their hatchlings bears the "Curse of Gyrlass" (Gyrlass being the Elvish word for Falcon). These cursed owlets are born with the head of a falcon, imbued with magical power from their new patron, granted to them from one of Zz'j'urr's champions. This event is known as the "Zz'j'urr's Hatching". Seen as a great herald for the clan, the title of "Fae-ar" is bestowed onto the owlet as they are then taken from the parents and clan, and taken to the Temple of Zz'j'urr, where they are raised by the "Fae-ar" of the previous generations, as well as serve their new patron and their desires.
