Personal history

As a child, Gregor was an Orphan, living in the streets of Kellisport, in the Kingdom of Grandore. For years he got by, living in filth and surviving on scraps and hand outs. Occasionally, when stealing food, a shop owner would spot Gregor, and the guards would be called, leading to a lengthy chase. At the age of six, after stealing a wheel of cheese, Gregor fled before the guards could arrive, and he snuck down an alley way near the docks, where he began to eat the cheese. Little did he know, that a worker from the shop had secretly followed him, and lead the guards to the alley. With the guards suddenly appearing at one end of the alley, Gregor, dropped thee cheese and ran, heading toward the docks. The guards gave pursuit, chasing Gregor across several docked ships. Slipping down the railing of one ship and holding onto the edge of the deck, he hid over the side of the ship while the guards raced on. Once he was sure the guards had left, Gregor pulled himself back onto the deck. He jumped as a voice called out from the quarterdeck. He looked up and saw a short, fat man with an enormous beard looking straight at him. Gregor was about to run again, but the fat man tossed the young boy an apple, and called him up to the quarter deck. The man was the mate of the ship, and was thoroughly impressed with the way Gregor had avoided the guards. He thought the Captain of the ship would be able to make use of the agile boy's talents, and invited Gregor to wait on the ship till the Captain returned. When he did return, the Mate introduced Gregor to him. Impressed with the Mate's story of Gregor, the Captain offered the young orphan a job on the ship. With nothing to lose, Gregor accepted. Twenty years passed and Gregor never looked back to life on land. He was well liked by the Crew, and loved the work, climbing the rigging like a monkey up a palm, watching the distant horizon a top the mast. In the fiercest storms, Gregor was able to cling on and cut away broken lines and timber, when other deckhands were swept into the railings or overboard. by the time he was twenty-seven, Gregor had sailed with three different ships, following the cosatl trade routes of the South-Eastern Kingom, and occasionally making the months long voyage across the the Great-Continent in the West. It was returning from one of these voyages when disaster stuck. several days off the coast of Haradur, a thick fog had settled over the seas for calming the winds and sea. the crew's spirits were already low for a war in the distant land of Dekka, the ship's cargo had barely turned a profit and the ship was returning with it's hold almost empty. With no wind to fill the sails, the captain called for all hands to oars. Gregor was sent to very end of the Bowsprit to look out for danger. A shout came from the stern, closely followed by the loud sound of splintering wood. The ship shook and Gregor held onto the Bowsprit, arms and legs wrapped tight so he would not be plunged into the dark waters below. Looking over his shoulder, he saw another ship scraping across the stern of his own, before vanishing into the fog. Where the other ship went, none could say, but the damage to the ship was catastrophic. The following day, the fog lifted and the sails could be used once more. however, the ship had started taking on water and all unneeded weight was thrown over board. When the water still kept filling in, the captain made the decision to throw what cargo he could into the longboat and tow it behind the damaged ship, while the rest would have to be thrown over board. Starting to list to it's starboard side, the ship would be unable to make it to the nearest port, and the captain decided to ground the ship on the Haradurian coast. With no money to pay the crew, nor the funds to repair the ship, the crew agreed to split the cargo and part ways. Weeks passed, and Gregor's money was starting to run out as he made his way north to the bustling ports of Lorisham. When he arrived in the capitol of Lorsburg, He discovered countless sailors were beginning to head East, making the voyage to port Raleigh, where treasure hunting crews were in high demand to explore the recently rediscovered Ghost Archipelago. The tales of unimaginable wealth made Gregor look at his last few coins. He signed on with a ship, bound for the Eastern kingdoms, arriving in Port Azure, before sailing further East to Goldsun bay, and onto Port Raleigh. The high demand for crew was indeed true. Gregor had been in the Port for little more than three hours before he had signed onbaord with a ship.

Gregor possesses a nimble agility few others can match. Like a spider in a web, we climbs the rigging of ships like men walk the earth
