As a teenager, Hamish was a Nomadic-raider. riding from the eastern deserts, attacking caravans along the border roads with the Western kingdoms. As he grew older, His targets became harder to attack, as more armed guards patrolled the vital supply routes. After he married his wife Anna, the two signed up with a mercenary war band, travelling west, and fighting in battles for the highest bidder for the company. When the heritor, Helga Stormchild took over command of the company, she led them on to defend the city of Ondos, before starting an expedition to the fabled Ghost Archipelago

Personal history

Hamish was born to the Shadar-Clan, of Nomads, in the Eastern deserts, bordering the Western kingdoms. He was taught to ride horses, and how too fight from a young age. The Shadar-clan were raiders, and Hamish took part in many raids, against supply caravans crossing the deserts, between the Eastern- and Western-kingdoms. As Hamish became a man, raiding became harder, as armed patrols increased in number of soldiers and frequency. Slowly the Shadar-Clan seemed to be dying out, with fewer men returning from raids, and bringing back fewer supplies. Other clans were finding the times hard, and a meeting of the clans was called. all differences were put aside as they met at the sacred Oasis. it was at this meeting that Hamish met the Anna, who was several years younger than Hamish. Introduced to him by a blood relative of his mother from another Clan, Anna was the daughter of a lesser clan leader, who had come of age for marriage. It was agreed that Hamish and Anna would marry during the meeting of the clans. After they were married, Anna joined the Shadar-Clan, riding with them at the end of the meeting of the clans. Hamish was surprised to find out, that Anna was a competent warrior, and skilled rider. Their time together with the Shadar-clan was short lived however. A large army from one of the Eastern kingdoms had marched out to put an end to the Nomadic-raiders, plundering the much sought after supplied from the West. The Shadar-clan was shattered, with many of it's warriors killed, along with the women and children. Hamish and Anna escaped, fleeing to the western-kingdoms. arriving at a kingdom, they did not know the name of, they encountered a Heritor named Ulfric Phinnius, who was recruiting soldiers for his mercenary company. With nothing else to do, and only the supplies on their horses, Hamish and Anna signed up with the company.
for many years, they fought many battles together, watching each other's backs. When the time came, where Ulfric announced he was about to embark on his expidition to the Ghost Archipelago, Hamish and Anna stayed behind with the company, now under the command of the younger heritor, Helga Stormchild. following the defence of the city of Ondos, Hamish looked at all the dead around him. He would have been more than fifteen years older than the eldest warrior who lay dead from the company, and his wife had been badly wounded in the battle. He felt old then, the creases of time now showing on his face, and he could scarcely believe that he had lived through the battle.
When Helga Stormchild announced her own expedition to the Ghost Archipelago, Hamish, eagerly agreed to the journey, hoping the fabled crystal pool could restore some of his youth.
