Isabel, a daughter of the north, has spent her whole life as a warrior. As a child, she was trained in combat, to defend her village from the constant threat of raiders. As she grew older, and refined her skills with a blade, she became a feared opponent. at twenty years of age, having traveled to the southern continents, she joined up with Ulfirc's mercenary company just before the Heritor commander embarked on his expedition to the Ghosts. Isabel became good friends with the company's new commander, Helga Stormchild, fighting shoulder to shoulder with her during the defense of Ondos. Now, she sets sail to the Ghost Archipelago with Helga, ready to explore the fabled islands.

Personal history

Born in the village of Woodsend, Isabel was thrown into a harsh world. the great forest the village bordered was home to many bands of bandits, who would launch regular raids against the villages on the forests edge. Every man and woman in the village was a trained fighter from necessity, and isabel was no exception. From the moment she took her first steps, a sword was placed in her hand, and hours of training took place daily. She was only five years of age, when the raiders came on cold winters night. the village lookouts had sounded the alarm, and the village-folk readied for battle. Isabel, told to stay indoors, grabbed her sword and slipped outside after her mother and father. the battle that ensued was short but deadly. Isabel saw neighbours cut down, along with many more bandits. in the melee, she saw her father, bashed to the ground by a bandit, armed with a shield and club. Isabel ran toward the bandit, plunging her sword through the bandit's leg, before twisting the blade, ripping it free, and causing the bandit to howl in pain and collapse. Her father recovered then, killing the bandit with a blow from his own sword.
From then on, Isabel was there to defend her village, alongside her parents. When she was only just thirteen, the raiders came in a much larger force, this time burning the village to the ground. Isabel, with a handful of other survivors from the village, tracked down the Bandits and exacted revenge in the form of what can only be described as butchery.
Helga gathered what belongings she could, and set off south, leaving the ruins of her birthplace behind. at seventeen, she had earned enough doing various mercenary work, to pay for passage to the southern continents. There, she continued to work as a mercenary, earning a reputation among the southern mercenary companies for the violence she utilized in battle, earning her the nickname butcher.
after she had turned twenty, she joined up with the mercenary company led by the Heritor Ulfric Phinnius. There she met Helga Stormchild, another heritor, and at the time, Ulfric's right-hand. Helga soon learned, that Isabel's reputation for violence ended off the battlefield. Isabel revealed herself to be a great friend, and comrade to the soldiers around her. Around the campfires at night, Isabel could often be found laughing louder than any others, and joining in in games of dice, drinking, or telling tall tales. By the time Helga had taken over command of the company, she and Isabel had become close friends. When the company arrived in Ondos, Isabel, along with Helga, stood firmly in the front ranks, employing her blade skills with deadly effect. Even Helga had to agree, is it weren't for Isabel, many more of the company's soldiers would have been slain.
following the battle, Isabel was filled with excitement at the news of Helga's expedition to the Ghosts. She had seen first hand what two heritors could do in battle, and greatly desired to have the same power herself.
