Aureate Leaf
While the airships of the Eir Astri Skyforge are impressive in their construction, most of this attribution is given to spectacular golden sheen of the hulls. Aureate Leaf, one of the technological imports from Emtatuk and their smiths, is almost essential for these constructions. Aureate Leaf is a product that mixes elemental air with precious metals (typically gold) to not only lighten the construction, but also prevent the free elements that drift wildly in the air from degrading the materials. While the interior components are typically shielded from the outside, the exterior is often subject to weather that not only include Eolithic storms, but also dust. During these storms, particles of minerals may collide with the material and carry part of the essence that maintains the residual structure away. Thus, the material degrades. However, Aureate Leaf is a specially adept at resisting these affects. Elemental air holds on to essence with far more ease than other elements. This special forging requires high temperatures and is one of the commonly manufactured products of the Eir Astri Skyforge.
First discovered in the dwarvish homestead of Emtatuk, Aureate Metal was used to create specialized parade armor. This parade armor was known to be extraordinarily light, though not durable. However, it was discovered that Aureate Leaf was resistant to magical effects and degradation. Aureate Leaf, a thin shielding or coating that was applied to the exterior of most equipment. During the envoys that ventured to both Mashangist and Isfa, gawking eyes were amazed at the elaborate armor that was so effortless carried. While Mashangisti engineers worked to employ the science of Aureate Leaf to infrastructural projects and technology, Isfa welcomed Tukian Engineers to construct the Eir Astri Skyforge. This partnership led to the eventual introduction of skyfaring vessels. The intention was to lead to further exploration of sub-Austral and Oriental oceans.
