Love's Blind Eye
There are many Satelles and moons that orbit around the world. In the time before the world spun, the light of the day was fairly constant. The storms and weather that would cause the day to dim was troubling, but the most troubling moments came in the form of the eclipse.
Of the many Celestial and upper terrestrial bodies that are unbound to the position of the Gerit, otherwise known as Aven, there are few that are large enough to block all light from reaching the surface. Unlike storms, the eclipse is taken for an omen: death comes during Love's Blind Eye.
The relationship between the Aven (the Sun) and Adalbar (the Moon), often being the largest Celestial body, is a dance of two beings. Adalbar chases the sun. Aven, ever vigilant, watches over all. However, occasionally, the Moon will catch and entice the Sun. This causes a blind eye where death can come for any that wander.
While this myth is largely stories handed down from generations, it does encapsulate the belief of Ukt, the Heir of Death, that wanders in the darkness where the Heir of Light cannot see. Since the Heir of Song learned the myth from Zakir, the myth does hold truth. Those that understand that there is this ill omen will often take the opportunity to commit evil acts during the eclipse. Thus, this will generally further instill the myth with more believers regardless of who commits the act.
Once the world began to turn, the role of the Adalbar as a provider of light similarly changed. Before, when the Satelles were mysterious anomalies to now when the Satelles are being explored and even occupied by skyfarers, the there is little that can dissuade the generational fear associated with the eclipse. As reverence for both Adalbar and Aven grew, the ill omen of the eclipse continued, reminding those of generations of fear and death.
