Satelles

When Samagri was chosen to be a battleground by the nameless one, this was one choice of many worlds. While Samagri was a place of ash, it would soon be filled with life. While the Jelakhav would become the sun to which Uinsil points, Samagri had many orbiting bodies. While these bodies would serve little purpose and garner little attention from the Heirs of the Samagri, their presence would influence the inhabitants of the world.
The Satelles, wandering bodies that would appear and disappear from the face of the world, orbit Samagri with varying degrees of frequency. Physically, the bodies are repelled by the Samagri. Thus, the Satelles are limited in their approach. On an elemental scale, the Satelles are primarily composed of dark elements. Naturally, the Satelles are Places of Silence. Thus, life would not be forged there. While other elements are present, there was little use for them.
Numbering in the tens of thousands, the Satelles mainly follow along the equatorial line. While collisions occur, these are generally minor events that may produce small showers of dust. The altitudes of the Satelles vary from around six miles to one-hundred miles, with the largest Satelle, Adalbar orbiting at an altitude of one-thousand miles. The Satelles generally travel at equivalent speed based on the altitudes. However, the size of the Satelles are not equivalent at the altitudes.
Culturally, the Satelles represent the thrones of the watching spirits. From their heights, the Satelles cast penumbral shadows that may be barely noticeable. The notable exception is Adalbar. Adalbar is the dominant body whose size casts a shadow that stretches over miles. From the time that the first shade of the eclipse of Adalbar arrives, it is approximately four hours until the last shade departs. For many cultures, this time of darkness is connected with death. It is the time that death claims the souls of loved ones who have died. For those who have died, it is necessary to perform the prayers associated with death prior to an eclipse to protect them. Due to the slight jitter of the axis pointing to Aven, the eclipse may vary in position and does not always appear in a predictable time.

Geography

While many of the Satelles are composed of ash, similar to Samagri, the elements within these bodies are predominantly dark. This causes the Samagri to reject the approach of the Satelles, causing them to be locked in a near-world orbit. The Satelles are varied in their appearance. It has been noted that the Satelles appear to be discarded pieces of the world as their forms appear broken. Largely, the surface of the Satelles are solid and contain geographical features similar, in proportion, to that of Samagri.   One difficulty in mapping the Satelles is that the Satelles are Tidally-locked to Samagri. Thus, only the "bottom" of the Satelles are visible to those on the surface of the Samagri. Only during a collision between bodies has the top surface of a Satelle been observed. However, the orientation of the Satelle's is quickly restored, resolving the survey that the elements are distributed in a necessary way for the Satelles to exist.

Ecosystem

A majority of the Satelles remain devoid of any semblance of life, several creatures have been noted to reside, or roost, on the lowest orbiting Satelles. During this roosting, these creatures bring nesting materials that include grasses and small insects. While the Satelles are Places of Silence, the spread of living creatures on the surface appears largely uninterrupted. However, only certain grasses and creatures survive in the inhospitable environment due to the attraction of winds and storms that the Satelles regularly pass through at those altitudes. However, life is reaching those places.

Localized Phenomena

The Satelles are Places of Silence. As such, magical effects are sedated. This has largely prevented the attempts at observations of these objects through divination or other means of viewing. Additionally, this has inhibited attempts to reach these places through mechanical and arcane means.

Climate

The climate of the Satelles would be considered inhospitable by most standards. Most significantly, when the Satelles are on the dark side of Samagri, the temperatures plummet. Thus, only creatures adapted to cold are able to survive.
