Worn Hands Upholder

Originally established by quartermasters that had enough experience during the War on Mashangist, the Worn Hands Upholder was stood up to support areas that were affected by the expanse of the war. As members of the army were disbanded to return to daily living, Danje Argen believed that there were those that did not go to war suffered in ways that those that went to war did not understand. This included rationing, loss of loved ones, or the surplus of refugees that surged towards Isfa. The destabilization created consternation in Danje's heart, causing him to seek out those that would be willing to give of their excess to support those in need. During the initial days at the close of the war, the provisions were released that were originally being rationed. As production exceeded what was normal, there was a sudden surplus that was easily distributed. The surplus was given to the Worn Hands Upholder, among other charities, to support those negatively affected.   As the production ramped down after the war, there was less surplus that was available. As the Worn Hands Upholder struggled to accumulate sufficient goods to meet the demands of the still large community of needy individuals, they resulted to acting desperate measures to secure funds, including sponsoring expeditions with the limited available funds. Meanwhile Danje Argen is a common face within Isfa petitioning for the needs of the many. While many view him as a benefit for society as a whole, there are those that view him as a pest. Regardless, among those in the Jadu-ket, where the Worn Hands Upholder is most active, Danje Argen remains one of the most respected individuals and to many of the orphans of war, a father. This remains one of the reasons why he remains so active in Isfa, struggling to maintain the poorhouse known as the Wayman Docken.   While the Worn Hands Upholder has approximately fifty members, many are volunteers who support the objectives of the Worn Hands Upholder by donating from their own earnings. As such, the Worn Hands Upholder is a tight knit community where the volunteers are affectionately known as Upholders. As mentioned previously, they primarily work out of the Jadu-ket, but their name and history extend through Isfa and across the Cunab Basin.
