Demi-Gods and vessels

After Kremer had stolen away the gods powers over their concepts and given them to humanity to control, most of the lesser gods who could not retain a following of believers, or simply gave up, were dropped into the earth, where their bodies became many things, such as plants, artifacts, and vessels. These gods are leaders of certain, smaller concepts, such as, for example, spiders, volcanoes, swordsmanship, etc. These smaller demi-gods constantly war with other demi-gods, monsters, and mortals that wish to kill them, or harness their power, for if someone beats a living demi-god, or manages to repair or obtain a demi-god item, they become the new demi-god of the concept, gaining all the powers associated with it. When a demi-god is defeated, the victor takes control of the vessel it was using, and becomes the vessel until they too are eventually defeated. These "Vessel gods" are actually a byproduct of making a deal with lycanthrop, god of monsters, who promised the fallen gods a fraction of their power back if they accepted his blessing. The ones that did became monstrous vessels, who war and ravage the landscape, taking the form of twisted, monstrous versions of their concepts, though their power is unquestionable. The ones who didn't accept became the other forms of demi-gods, such as artifacts, plants, and animals.   Today, most people who look for non-tainted demi-gods are scholars and researches, who wish to preserve and study the fallen to get a glimpse into the history of the world. The people who look for vessels are usually either hunters or heroes looking for a thrill against a tough foe, or are a power seeking tyrant who wishes to use the vessel's power for themselves, though this always ends in the person losing themselves to the vessel. Regardless, despite there being tons of fallen demi-gods, they are exceptionally hard to find, either hiding in obscure places, being buried or guarded in long old dungeons, or using magic to hide themselves.
