Planar Space

Planar space acts as an additional dimension along which things can travel. Each plane is located at a point along a line strung between Zovilla's palace and the Heart of Darkness but not every point contains a plane. Travel along the planar line is done without necessarily interacting with things in between and can only be done in jumps not a continuous motion. When at a point on the planar line not occupied by a plane, Material Light and Shadow (standard matter) slowly lose their Pattern and dissolve into their Natural state, unless shielded by a more resistant field or shell. There are two main methods of inter-planar travel, a conduit style method and a launching style method. The conduit style method is more limited in range but far safer creating a tunnel between two points on different planes. These will draw the distant point to a plane and will not form if the far end can not reach a plane. The launching style method is longer ranged but more dangerous because if you are not precise enough while creating you will not land on the plane and you won't know until you cross. While it is possible to create a pocket dimension / demi-plane / extraplanar space / etc it is extremely difficult and involves either ripping pieces off of an existing plane with extremely powerful magic or using large quantities of raw Light and Shadow to produce new plane.

Within each point on the planar line there is an infinitely large space within which standard locomotion is possible and which can support matter. In points which contain planes, a relatively thin but extremely wide region which can have stable matter (blocks) though across the entire space Material Light and Shadow can safely exist.
The center plane (Overworld) possesses unique properties due to its position halfway between the Light and Shadow. While on other planes the sky is always bright, illuminated by its star created by the coalescing of the planar Light energies, or always dark, its light being consumed by the planar Shadow energies, the central plane is always dark below but alternates between light and dark above due to Shadow energies periodically flooding upwards. During the day the upper region possesses the normal properties of the upper planes but, upon turning night, its contents transported to a rare and unique demi-planar-space from which one can only return by descending down into the plane. The Light energies usually clear out of the way as the Shadow floods in but residual amounts remain forming into numerous points, the nearest is the moon which is unique in that it is not wholly light due to its proximity to the shadow floods though still does emit light. The moon does in fact orbit the plane and grows dimmer and lighter as the floods pulse between stronger and weaker. Around the distant points (stars) various micro-planes (planets) form orbiting the points. These micro-planes, unlike standard planes, are cube shaped. The micro-planes vary in size with a surface area between 2.84e+15 m^2 and 2.31e+11 m^2. (Earth: 5.1e+14, Overworld: 3.6e+15)
