She lived a happy childhood as the only daughter of prince Raìf at the palace in Restoyers. She learned to hunt from her father and to dance from her mother, as the favorite child of the house. While her brothers were sent to diplomatic missions, or to study, to train and to marry, she was kept in the mansion.
In 877, when she was 14, a Divine from VilleRoy suggested Raìf to marry her to the male heir (in Otrenza female daughter are the inheritors) of Otrenza, to finally pacify the two principalities. He wanted to refuse as his hatred for Otrenza was deep, but Amarina insisted. She liked the young man Audres who, every month, visited her at a palace near the border. With him she talked, laughed and danced. At the eight of their encounters he was different tho, he was taciturn, as if upset. While walking together Amarina implored him to tell her what happened and why he was so gloomy. Before their encounter Audres had met with her brother Rameff who had insulted him and provoked him until he challenged Rameff to a duel. Rameff humiliated and disarmed Audres who had to flee while being laughed at. Amarina asked forgiveness for his brother behavior, but Audres had another kind of revenge in mind. He pushed her on the ground and, dagger in hand, ravished her.
She never fully recovered; his father went completely mad and waged war against Otrenzia, her mother fell ill soon after, she died of desperation the doctors will say. After some months her brother returned home from the war, bringing a gift from their father: Audres. When he was fed to the dogs Rameff insisted for her to watch together with the entire court. She hated it, she hated her brother, cause to everything that happened to her, she hated the dogs, who were destroying a human being in front of her, she hated Audres who was being devoured, the man who had betrayed her. She fainted after a few seconds.
After the war, begun from her shame and ended in the blood of many, her father decided to shield her even more than before. Both scarred for life they enjoyed their company, mourning for her mother and for the old times. But Raìf died a few years later and Rameff took control of the princedom and of the house.
Having being raped she was hard to marry despite her beauty as the nobles feared the possible dishonor of a non virgin wife. Eventually a commander who was made noble after the war proposed to her with her brother blessing. She initially refused even to see the man, but one day he arrived at the palace with a special gift:
a hind
"You may free her in your woods or slay her to celebrate with a feast, my lady. But as powerful as you are you may not keep her chained as her nature is of a wild creature. Accept her and marry me my lady, I am ready to renounce my land and my name if you refuse. For what is a title, what is a noble life if I don't get to share it with you my lady"
The man's direct approach and determination impressed her to the point of accepting meeting him. Some times later they were married and the hind was set free. Now she lives with her loving husband Orvu, a man many years older then her, yet the only love she has found since her father's death.
