Sursus

Dark skinned humans, the main inhabitants of the Mobek Plains and a large subgroub of the humans of Pretalem. The Sursus are humans who did not escape to the Dwarven tunnels during the reign of Dragons. The Sursus of Mobek are split between nomadic tribes and mercantile centers, descended from the rebels and dragon-loyalists. To avoid annihilation, the rebel Sursus developed a society constantly on the move, and fought a perpetual guerilla war against the dragons. Meanwhile, the Dragon-loyalist Sursus found a niche within the draconic tyranny. Dragons are not unreasoning creatures, and so those loyal to the dragons were treated with an even, if overbearing, hand. The nomadic Sursus tribes tend towards Chaos, while the merchant cities tend towards Law.
