The Northern Wind
Structure
Xagon Urlak is the name of the ruling couple of the tribe of the Northern Wind. In the War of the Four Corners, the northern tribes who inhabited the Howling Plains were united under the rule of an Orc priestess named Xagon. She bore no children, but the leader of the tribe now takes on the name as a sort of "spiritual" offspring.
The tribe of the Northern Wind structure themselves in a manner imitating a lion's body, with the Xagan being the head. The leaders of the four tribes are the paws, and each paw has five claws, or clan leaders, who serve them.
Culture
Listen to the mother when she asks you to rest Or else the Father will put you to sleepThe Tribe of the Northern Wind values physical and mental toughness above all else. Women, and mothers in particular, are held in high regard, due to the pain of menstruation and child birth. They have rigid gender roles, viewing a husband and wife pair as being one completed being, where the wife is expected to perform diplomatic duties (whether at the family level, negotiating conflicts, or at the scale of the functioning of the whole tribe) and the husband is expected to be the enforcer. Typically, couples are referred to as a single entity, the pair being given a new name upon their marriage.
