Rest is essential for every student--even those who don't need to sleep. An opportunity to clear your mind, let your body repair itself, and turn your thoughts inward is a universal need.
Resting does not restore Stress or Health--instead, missing rest causes those stats to worsen.
To gain the in-game benefits of a
Long Rest, you must rest twice, back to back. Most characters do this every day.

Every character needs rest. Every rest you miss inflicts -1 Health and +1 Stress (Con Save DC 10+ missing health to avoid) |
Some characters have special rules when it comes to resting.
All characters, no matter their sleep needs, must Rest twice, consecutively, to restore their spells and gain the benefits of a long rest.
- EIGHT HOURS: You must rest twice a day. Each failure to do so inflicts a DC (10 + missing health + 1/missed rest) or you lose 1 health and gain 1 stress.
- FOUR HOURS: You must rest once a day. Each failure to do so inflicts a DC (10 + missing health + 1/missed rest) or you lose 1 health and gain 1 stress. You must still rest twice consecutively in order to gain the benefits of a Long Rest.
- NO SLEEP: You do not need to rest. You must still rest twice consecutively in order to gain the benefits of a Long Rest.
If you go two or more consecutive days without regaining your spell slots, you must save DC (11+days without restoring spells) or your grades drop by -1. Going to school requires you to cast spells in class. Obviously, warlocks get a free ride on this one.
