Slaahg a' Thor
Slaahg a' Thor
Left for dead after a group of Infernal forces destroyed his home, Slaahg was later found and raised by a nomadic group of Goliaths. He has a strong desire to help anyone that he can, leading him to study every type of Healing magic he can find. Slaahg is quick to help those that are the victims of powers much stronger than them, especially those that have been hurt by the Infernals, but also has a strong self-preservation instinct. "I can't help anybody if I just end up dead in a ditch somewhere!"

Personal history
After his home was destroyed by Infernal forces, Slaahg was left hiding in the ruins of his previous life. Eventually a group of nomadic goliaths found this hollowed half-elf child, and brought him with them on their travels. Still in shock, Slaahg took over a month to utter a single word to his new family. Not knowing his birth name, the goliaths decided to call him Slaahg, and he has accepted this name fully as his own in an attempt to move past the tragedy he was dealt at such a young age.
Traveling with this group of goliaths lead to Slaahg questioning many of the Hillfolk beliefs he previously held. The offerings and rituals his family used to provide/perform did not actually keep them safe, why should he continue those practices? Do the gods or spirits even care about "regular" people? You were always supposed to treat outsiders and guests well, but never consider them family. But then this goliath tribe found a stranger, helped breath purpose back into his life, and treated him as if he actually was now their family. Maybe his first family didn't have everything right with their beliefs, and Slaahg decided he would not be making the mistake of relying too much on them.
Slaahg's role within the goliath tribe eventually became one of an healer and entertainer. He would help bandage and take care of any injured fighters, while also occasionally having short musical performances to boost morale during especially tough times.
Before making his way to Ioth Academy, Slaahg asked his new family to bring him back to the ruins of his past life. There, Slaahg recovered what resources he could, and had his (current) flute and quarterstaff made with them. They are meant to be a constant reminder of where he came from, and what he wants to prevent from happening to anyone else.

Morality & Philosophy
Losing his home and family at such a young age, as well as his time spent with the goliath group that found him, drives Slaahg to want to give aid to any person who is the victim of similar attacks/forces. He avoids causing harm to others as much as possible, opting to get out of hostile situations rather than barreling through them. Slaahg will do everything he can to aid those he considers friends/allies, but will also prioritize his own survival if push comes to shove.
After losing his home to the Infernals, Slaahg gained a strong desire to help anyone that he can. This lead him to Ioth Academy, in the pursuit of knowledge, and answers. "I'll keep you healed up, just make sure I don't die!"

Wrath of Boreas: Epilogue
As the events of the night appear to be winding down, Slaahg would have himself one last cup of tea as he lets himself take a breath for the first time since he joined up with the others helping out in the dorms. While sipping on his tea, he begins to hear murmurs from people saying they saw Ioth repairing the barrier surrounding the school, and relief from Ioth emerging mingles with the calming scent of his tea. He thanks anyone that is still around for letting him aid them and lets them know that if they could ever use his help again, he’ll be there. When the caretakers come by, he lets them usher him back to his room while giving the other students still present a departing pat on the back/shoulder.
The previously felt relief quickly fades when Slaahg closes the door to his room and is replaced by a mixture of emotions, anger and sorrow being chief among them. Anger at the Sovereign of the Sky for taking his petty squabble with the school out on the innocent refugees living near the school. Sorrow for the refugees for not even being a part of this dispute, but forced into facing the consequences nonetheless. The feeling of grief still manages to seep in from the outside, and Slaahg hums a somber tune to himself until he eventually drifts off to sleep. A restless sleep that is filled with nightmares he has managed to avoid since coming to Ioth Academy. Nightmares of him hiding under the floor as his home is overrun by Infernal forces. The screams of his family and the laughter of their butchers as he had to choke down his sobs in order to not be found. The sights he had to endure when he eventually left his safe haven being mixed with flashes of scenes from the attack that just occurred. Slaahg wakes drenched in sweat knowing one thing; if he wants to keep what happened to his family from happening to other people, he still has a long way to go.
