Greoshal

Greoshal is one of the largest trading cities in Anarkand, located conveniently by the Gandrich Sea. The streets of the city are crowded, bustling, and unforgiving.

Power Structure

Greoshal is an oligarchy masquerading as a democracy. While technically the citizens vote for their leadership in the various guilds, elections are carefully orchestrated to follow a predetermined dance of winners and losers. The ruling structure is very intolerant of upstarts. While an up-and-coming merchant might amass wealth and support among the people, such a person will never hold any position of real power unless invited by the existing leadership - and then will maintain such power only so long as they support the long-running masquerade.

Greoshal is a bustling city where the wealthy live well, and the poor...not so much.
