Winter Storms
A winter storm is a highly dangerous storm to be in. Powerful yet dangerous. And for humans, life-threatening. However, Father Winter and all winter deities are far away from the Human World for most of the year. They do create winter storms a plenty all year long.
Many of these deities, except Father Winter and few other bigwigs, are emotionally stable. It is their entire realm to do whatever in. Many times throughout the year, plans to give Humankind winter happen.
By the time Yule comes around, all are ready for another season. Humans have gone without polytheism for a long time. But still all deities that have been given life still live. And with many deities, things can happen. Things like a more harsh winter to them than planned. This means someone has caused the weather to go too far.
History
Many millennia have passed.
And there have been planet-wide Ice Ages where many living beings don’t last. Some say they were caused by Father Winter’s anger and hatred, despair and lack of kindness and compassion in his heart. One is said to have been caused by the birth of said winter god.
And for those eons, Primordial Winter God Father Winter and all Winter Deities have made the Poles, notably The North Pole, their home. Change is hard for gods like Father Winter because they have been on Earth for a long time. But Father Winter wanted to create a new image of himself and so asked to be in the Collective Congress of Ancient Power to help that.
When he met Nicholas, there was no doubt Nicholas would be moving to North Pole-Artic Circle. How did he know? Nobody is sure.
When Nicholas left, so did Father Winter.
Unbeknownst to him, Father Winter ordered all storms and winds to cease. A rare thing! But necessary.
The center of The North Pole is the valley.
Christmastide Valley, the now-home of Santa and the elves, was empty. Just a valley filled with trees. Hidden until all the others saw it for the first time.
Christmastide Valley
The center of the Artic Circle hosts Christmastide Valley. It is home to a few species, all of whom help Santa Claus in one way or another. Santa Claus only created his home. It is land given to Santa Claus.
Above them, Aurora Borealis (Queen Boreal) dances in the night.
However, the Winter Deities rule this land and so more often than not, Santa has to operate through the tunnels.
