The Darkness

The Darkness is a thing only spoken of in hushed tones. A thing whose existance draws questions of the very nature of Andali, and the gods' place at at its helm.
Some say it was runoff, a byproduct the magics of the Omniscient Dawn in the twilight hours of the Golden War when they bound the Dark to Callisto Nightbringer. Others say they meerly harnessed the power, that the Darkness was a preexisting entity that they channelled to call the shadows of the Dark into a mortal Vessel. Regardless, for this sin their creed was wiped from the face of Andali. The Dark, a single facet of the Darkness, destroyed the lands once known as Arborea.
But the Darkness encompasses more than one shadow. Eight more, nine in total, have been documented throughout the ages. They've been known by many names; Dread Powers, Dark Ones, Fears. Apostates. Surfacing and disappearing like the tide, these entities speak to a greater will that binds them. A guiding force that dictates their movements. An Anathema. A Darkness.
