The Muse

The Muse is the god of inspriation, and are such worshipped by creatives across Andali. Their first gift to Mortals was the drive to create. In the early age, this lead to music and, not shortly after, the art of storytelling. This branched into a multitude of vocations, and so They are the patron of dreams and dreamers; artists, musicians, actors, painters, sculptors, and writers; all those who create that which drives the humanity of Mortals. For this, They are the god of empathy. The Muse also holds domain over the Call; the beating heart of magic that courses through the leylines of Andali. Their hand tuned the first ear of a Mortal to the great cadence of power that resonates within Andali. So They too are the patron diety of sorcerers, spellsingers, and spellweavers of their like.

It is said that the Muse, who holds domain of the air between sky and earth, blesses each tear that falls from Serenity with a mote of inspiration. Many artists have caught their death taking advantage of this, though others take a wiser path: building temples, meditation spaces, and and open theaters surrounded by water; be it in a reseviour, rain fountains, or flowing springs; even the ocean. And so They are beloved by sailors.

From its postition in the world of air and sky, Kyrr, with its remaining splendor from a time when it was still Kyrrix, holds the Muse's teachings nigh as high as they do those of the Monarch. When it was lifted to the realm of the Muse, Kyrr became the destination for those seeking to bask in the Muses influence. The kingdom of Kyrrix was known for its opulence, and temples of ancient majesty have been restored in the ascended city, creating illustrious performance spaces and water features.

The Muse dwells in the Regalia, a colossal mansion that looks out out across the rest of the Harmonic Spheres. Its halls are filled with song and reverberate with the power of the Call. From here, They look out into the hearts of Mortals and let their influence pour out in the many streams that run through Their halls. The Regalia is home to a numbered host of artists and potent mages of ages passed who fill the halls with their craft, for if a Mortal is so masterfully intuned to the Call, the heartbeat through which all other rhythms are contrived, the Muse will send Their Songbirds to claim their soul from the sands of Manto so their song may be unending. With this host of the raw talent in Their home, the Muse is known to throw great festivals and celebrations, and is not unknown to dabble in aspects of a god of hedonism from time to time.

As patron of art and song, entire colleges are dedicated to the Muse's benefit in hopes that They bless Mortal creation with their divine inspiration. Worship comes in every action of craft, and it is not uncommon for individuals to leave offerings for the Muse at shrines before starting an important project, or to dedicate a performance to Them for good luck. It is rumored that worshipers of the Muse, be they bards, clerics, spellsingers, or otherwise, are some of the most potent magic users for their acute attunement to the Call. It is for this reason that many practitioners of the arcane arts take up an instrument or songcraft, so they might garner closer connection to the Great Heartbeat and harness finer arcane acuities for it.
