The Red Mountains

The Red Mountains is the only country that is free from the rule of both the Aurelian and Fulminarian Empires. During the Golden War, the great houses of the dwarves bound themselves together so to create an alliance that would be able to profit from the war rather than fight in it. Entering an alliance with the gnomes from the foothills of the region, they produced engines of war for both sides.
Later requests in the war for mechanical footsoldiers gave rise to the warforged, a new race created by the gnomish artificers through a process kept secret. Since the Signing of the Accords, the warforged have seen a switch in purpose, now serving as grunt labor and servants to rich individuals across Andali, with many more left purposeless with the end of the violence.
