April 2: Dreams, Plans, and the Return of Rarrick & Co.
General Summary
April 2: Dreams, Plans, and the Return of Rarrik & Co.
Emarn Fort, on the western side of the Malema Ruins
Frosty Place
I. Dreams
• Algroth asked Tyrex and Bwawk if anyone else had a weird dream in which they were offered a way home. Tyrex admitted to having such a dream; Bwawk did not answer.
• Neither Algroth nor Tyrex accepted the offer (obviously). (Algroth did accept the deal to have the entity leave at the cost of owing the entity a favor)
• Algroth was bound to the floor in his dream (?), while Tyrex sat at a table to talk with a disembodied voice.
• Everything felt real.
• No one, including Bwawk, trusts the Voice.
II. Plans
• Bwawk is tired of being passive and decides it would be best to take an active role at the Fort. Algroth and Tyrex agree.
• In determining how much influence they have at the Fort, they realize that out of c. twenty inhabitants:
• five Emarn believe in Bwawk as Iorthric; our heroes are kept apart from these five at all times
• one Malema (Bhazrade) believes Algroth fulfills a messianic prophecy
• The Emarn generally fear Tyrex due to a cultural distrust of magic
• While enjoying Pie Day dinner with the garrison, our heroes decide to approach Marsotec about expediting the plan to save the children.
• Marsotec vents to them about the various bureaucratic delays and such.
• Our heroes offer their services, and Marsotec realizes they can be useful.
• Tyrex is to learn enchantments from Bhazrade.
• Our Heroes have a clandestine meeting with Bhazrade.
• They learn how much faith/how naïve Bhazrade is concerning Algroth’s being the prophesied male attuned Silvaithian.
• They also learn that the control collars function like shock collars and must be manually activated via a controller(s?)
III. The Return of Rarrik & Co.
• After the meeting with Bhazarade, our heroes are in their quarters when they hear the sound of dragon wings
• They go up to the ramparts, but cannot see the dragon due to the snow and twilight conditions
• They meet the Emarn, including Marsotec, upon the ramparts
• Tyrex casts dancing lights in an attempt to locate the dragon; Marsotec restrains him
• The sound of dragon wings stops
• Rarrik and Co. arrive at the gate, clearly haggard and out of sorts
• With them are the children, a hag, and Krink
• Bwawk takes charge of the situation as Marzetek is confused by what’s happening
• In the dining hall, Rarrik explains what happened
• The night before they planned to infiltrate the witch’s fort, some number of the party experienced dreams similar to Algroth and Tyrex
• When they party awoke, the children were already with them, and the three witches were “captured” and in their (true?) form of hags.
• Two of the hags escaped, but Nessean remained out of loyalty to the children; no one in the party was took much notice of them, being more concerned with the general state of things
• Krink was also found to be resurrected(?) via Crene’s accepting the deal the Voice offered him in exchange for one of his wings.
• Bwawk volunteers to “guard” the Kuath over night.
