Prinlochin
Prinlochin have long been considered lesser than by other races owing to their personal recklessness and almost childlike sense of curiosity. This is at best a simplistic view of the race. While true that individually Prinlochin often rush headlong into situations and damn the consequences, as a race they have developed a very strong sense of communal responsibility. Individuals are allowed even encouraged to pursue any interest they have no matter how self-detrimental however it their actions result in any harm to the community it is a serious breach of etiquette often resulting in expulsion from the community. The jobs which directly serve the community, notably farming and construction, are looked upon with a mixture of massive respect and pity. Respect comes from the value these jobs add to the city but they are also pitied because those who pursue them must forsake their own lust of adventure and exploration.
The position of tavern keeper is one of the most sought after jobs in Prinlochin society. It is afforded the respect of a community service job yet allows the owner to vicariously experience many lifetime’s worth of adventures through the stories of their patrons. Curiosities from all over the world as well as personal inventions are frequently traded for food and drink, the most successful tavernkeeps often have collections that rival those of Ondolon museums, if somewhat less curated.
This sense of community has led to them being consummate environmentalists, deeply caring for the enormous trees which house their cities and the surrounding environs. The organic waste from the tree top dwellings is all funneled into a series of canals surrounding the base of the trees constantly enriching the soil.
